Privacy Policy

Welcome to Pawse.

Pawse is designed as a private space where you can reflect on your emotions, record your life, explore your inner world, and interact with an AI companion. We care about your privacy and want to explain clearly what information may be processed, why it is needed, how it is used and protected, and what choices you have over your data.

Pawse is operated by the developer of Pawse.

01Information we may process

Account information

Depending on how you set up and use Pawse, this may include:

  • Login email
  • Phone number, when you use phone sign-in
  • User ID
  • Display name
  • Birthday, if provided
  • Gender, if voluntarily provided
  • Account creation information
  • Subscription status

Pawse does not display or store your actual password in readable form. Login credentials are handled through the authentication system used by Pawse.

Content created in Pawse

Depending on the features you use, this may include:

  • AI conversations
  • Journal entries
  • Saved Memory
  • Emotional reflections
  • Manifestation and gratitude content
  • Soul Insight-related information
  • Other self-reflection content
  • Content you intentionally upload

AI-related information

When you use Pawse's AI features, information relevant to the feature may need to be processed by third-party AI service providers in order to generate a response. Pawse should only send information that is reasonably necessary to provide the requested feature.

Depending on the feature, this may include your current message, relevant conversation context, relevant saved Memory, and other information specifically used to provide the AI feature you requested.

Fish, Cat Food and subscriptions

This may include:

  • Daily Fish and Cat Food balances
  • Fish and Cat Food usage
  • Purchase history
  • Subscription plan
  • Subscription status
  • Transaction identifiers

Where payments are processed through the App Store, Google Play, or another payment platform, full payment card details are generally handled by that platform rather than stored directly by Pawse.

Feedback & Support

When you contact us through Feedback & Support, this may include the category, subject, message, a contact email you supply for the request, screenshots, your user ID, app version, build number, platform, OS version, basic device information, app language, and a timestamp.

Please do not include passwords, full payment details, or other unnecessary sensitive account information in Feedback & Support messages.

Technical information

Where actually implemented, this may include app version, operating system, device type, app language, and error information used to keep the service working and to investigate problems.

We also process notification tokens when you enable push notifications, and AI request metadata such as feature, model, token usage, cost, response time, and error category. These records may be associated with your user ID.

02How we use information

We use information to operate Pawse and to give you the experience you ask for. Purposes may include:

  • Providing Pawse functionality
  • Account management
  • Generating AI responses
  • Saving journal content
  • Memory and personalization
  • Subscriptions and Cat Food
  • User support
  • Troubleshooting
  • Service security
  • Fraud and abuse prevention
  • Legal compliance where required
  • Analyzing feature usage and comparing model performance to improve Pawse

03AI and automatically generated content

Some Pawse features use artificial intelligence. AI may not always fully understand your situation and may produce responses that are incorrect, incomplete, or unsuitable for you.

If Memory contains inaccurate information, you can use Pawse's available controls to review, manage, or delete the relevant memory.

04How information may be processed by service providers

Pawse relies on trusted third-party infrastructure to run. Information may be processed by service providers where reasonably necessary to provide Pawse, including categories such as:

  • Cloud and database infrastructure
  • Authentication
  • AI providers
  • App store and payment providers

These providers process information on our behalf so that Pawse can function. We do not sell your private journals or conversations.

Pawse currently uses Supabase for authentication, database and file storage; Render for backend hosting; OpenRouter and its routed model providers for AI processing; RevenueCat and the app stores for purchases and subscriptions; and Expo push notification services for notifications. AI processing may include your messages, relevant conversation history, diary content, saved memory, and profile context needed for the feature. Provider retention and training practices depend on the providers and account settings; this policy does not claim zero retention.

05How we do not use your private content

Pawse does not intend to:

  • Publicly display your private AI chats
  • Publicly display your private journals
  • Show your private content to other Pawse users
  • Sell your private journals or conversations for advertising purposes

Pawse does not use user data for cross-app or cross-website advertising tracking, advertising matching, data brokerage, or marketing based on health information or private conversations.

06Memory and personalization

If you use Memory, Pawse may save selected information that helps future conversations and personalization.

You can review or delete saved memories. Once a memory is deleted, Pawse should stop using that deleted memory for future personalization, although existing historical conversations may not automatically be rewritten or removed.

07Data retention

Pawse retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security, meet legitimate operational needs, or comply with applicable legal obligations. Different types of information may have different retention periods.

When you delete content or your account, related information is handled according to Pawse's system design, backup processes, and applicable legal requirements. Certain information may need to be retained for a limited period for security, fraud prevention, payment records, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

08Account and data deletion

You can request account deletion from within Pawse. When your account is deleted, this may result in:

  • Loss of access to Pawse
  • Deletion of your profile information
  • Deletion of your chats
  • Deletion of your journals
  • Deletion of your saved Memory
  • Loss of some account-associated digital entitlements, such as remaining Cat Food, subject to finalized commercial and legal rules

Some information may be retained for a limited period where reasonably necessary, as described in Data retention.

09Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live and how you use Pawse, your options may include:

  • Viewing your account information
  • Correcting editable profile information
  • Managing or deleting Memory
  • Deleting user-created content where supported
  • Requesting account deletion
  • Requesting applicable access to or a copy of your data
  • Asking questions about how your data is processed

Some of these are available directly in the app today; others can be requested through Feedback & Support, and we will handle them in line with applicable law.

10Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information against unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure, or loss.

However, no network, device, cloud system, or electronic storage method can guarantee absolute security, and Pawse does not claim to provide 100% or absolute security.

11International data processing

The cloud, AI, and service providers Pawse relies on may process information in locations outside the country or region where you live. Where this happens, we take steps intended to keep your information handled consistently with this Privacy Policy.

12Minors

Pawse is not designed specifically for children. You must meet the minimum age and consent requirements that apply where you live in order to use Pawse.

13Third-party services

Pawse works together with third-party services. These services may have their own privacy policies and terms, which govern how they handle information. We encourage you to review the policies of services that apply to you.

14Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we may notify you through:

  • An in-app notice
  • An updated "last updated" date
  • Renewed consent where legally required
